![]() 06.24.08No Age Limit Piaggio MP3 Lincoln Highway RideDr. Bernie ‘Buddy’ Rosenbaum (71) and Robert Chase (72) are two lifelong friends who have been chasing adventure – usually on motorcycles – for many decades. This summer, they’re rolling away on one of America’s historic cross-country roads, the Lincoln Highway, stretching almost 3400 miles from San Francisco to New York’s Times Square on the “latest in alternative transportation” – the three-wheel Piaggio MP3 500 Scooter. Read more about their adventures here: http://www.noagelimitpiaggio.us ![]() 06.22.08“Points” SystemWe have developed a sort of internal product tracking system that tells us how products fare against others by way of a “point system”. Basically, a product gets a “point” when it is searched for in our shopping cart (but not clicked from the “most popular products” listing) and when it is added to a shopper’s cart. The GIVI Replacement Shield for the ’07 – ’08 Suzuki Burgman 400 has been our most popular selling product for over a year now, and as the chart shows, it is leading the way by over double. We reset the points roughly about every month. This current chart was reset 4 days before this blog post.

With gas prices averaging over $4.00 per gallon in the U.S. it may be time to rethink your primary method of commuter transportation. The current consensus is that "it’s time to save our money, our resources and our planet". You can help do your part by riding your motorcycle or scooter whenever you can. Not only will you be saving money at the pump, but you’ll also pollute less. A lot of scooters get 80+ miles per gallon; Motorcycles averaging 45 – 70 mpg. Compare that to 20 – 35 mpg for the average car. They require less insurance and have low maintenance costs. They are especially easy to maneuver in traffic and in some cases, can save time. Thanks for Another Successful Year at Americade! Thanks to all who came to visit us at Americade this year! It’s been a successful year, but we think we’re going to call it quits on the rally because it’s a lot of work and there’s too much catching up to do for the overall business to continue. Every year we have been getting busier and busier processing orders and answering questions. We really appreciate the business and we think that in order to continue our success, we’ve got to trim the edges where they are needed most. It’s almost a year until the next Americade will begin, and if we come up with more staffing we might just be able to make it…but if we don’t make it, we’ll never make it back because of the governing rules of the rally. ![]() 05.16.08H-rated vs. V-rated for Tire Life & LongetivityQuestion: I cannot decide between an H-rated tire or a V-rated. I do not ride my bike that fast but I was wondering if a V-rated tire might last longer, since it is rated for a higher speed. Answer: An H-rated tire is going to last you longer because it is a harder compound.
